The Greenbrier Express - departs from historic Cass Depot and follows the scenic Greenbrier River through the remote Monongahela National Forest to the mountain village of Durbin. Along the 15-mile route, riders enjoy views of forested mountains and may spot deer, river otters, black bears, and a variety of birds. Once in Durbin, passengers are served lunch. This rebuilt stretch of the former C&O line now offers a unique experience as part of Cass Scenic Railroad State Park.

Green Bank Observatory Tour - Experience the wonders of the universe at the Green Bank Observatory! This guided tour takes you into the National Radio Quiet Zone to see the world-class Green Bank Telescope up close. Learn how scientists explore deep space, discover cutting-edge discoveries, and enjoy an unforgettable visit to one of America’s most unique scientific destinations.

Bald Knob Excursion - The 22-mile round-trip ride from Cass to Bald Knob takes about 4.5 hours, climbing 2,390 feet to the second-highest point in West Virginia for sweeping Appalachian Mountain views and a look at the Green Bank Telescope far below. The higher altitude creates a Canadian-like climate, with spruce forests and northern wildlife. A “King of the Road” hobo lunch is included. The journey follows the original 1901 logging line using historic Shay steam locomotives, including Shay #5—one of the oldest operating engines in continuous service, making this a memorable mountain experience.

New Tygart Flyer – The New Tygart Flyer is a vintage diesel-powered passenger train offering a relaxing wilderness excursion through the mountains of West Virginia. The route features steep grades, an S-curve tunnel, a high bridge, and miles of untouched mountain scenery along the cascading Shavers Fork of the Cheat River, culminating at the remote and beautiful High Falls of Cheat, an 18-foot-high, 150-foot-wide waterfall. After time at the falls, the train returns to the Elkins Depot. Passengers enjoy comfortable, climate-controlled coaches, and lunch is included.

WV Railroad Museum Tour - Located in the historic Darden Mill in Elkins, the West Virginia Railroad Museum invites you to explore the region’s rich railroad heritage. Through its engaging exhibits and knowledgeable volunteers.
